File::Util::Copy - Utilities related to copying files

VERSION

This document describes version 0.002 of File::Util::Copy (from Perl distribution File-Util-Copy), released on 2024-11-22.

SYNOPSIS

use File::Util::Copy qw(
    copy_noclobber
    copy_warnclobber
);

copy_noclobber "foo.txt", "bar.txt"; # will copy to "bar (01).txt" if "bar.txt" exists (or "bar (02).txt" if "bar (01).txt" also exists, and so on)

copy_warnclobber "foo.txt", "bar.txt"; # will emit a warning to stdrr if "bar.txt" exists, but copy/overwrite it anyway

DESCRIPTION

copy_noclobber

Usage:

copy_noclobber( [ \%opts , ] $from, $to );

Known options:

  • pattern

    Str. Defaults to " (%02d)".

copy_warnclobber

Usage:

copy_warnclobber( [ \%opts , ] $from, $to );

Known options:

  • log

    Bool. If set to true, will log using Log::ger instead of printing warning to stderr.

Most of the time, you don't need to build the distribution yourself. You can simply modify the code, then test via:

% prove -l

If you want to build the distribution (e.g. to try to install it locally on your system), you can install Dist::Zilla, Dist::Zilla::PluginBundle::Author::PERLANCAR, Pod::Weaver::PluginBundle::Author::PERLANCAR, and sometimes one or two other Dist::Zilla- and/or Pod::Weaver plugins.
