NAME

Genezzo::RawIO - Genezzo Raw IO

SYNOPSIS Additional file read and write routines for Genezzo.

DESCRIPTION sysread and syswrite are wrapped by genread and genwrite so raw devices (via rawread and rawwrite) may optionally be used.

ARGUMENTS

FUNCTIONS

setUseRaw BOOL
Set to 1 to enable aligned I/O for raw devices. Set to 0
 to disable.
getUseRaw
Returns 1 if aligned I/O for raw devices is enabled. Returns 0
 if disabled.
genread FILEHANDLE, SCALAR, LENGTH
Performs read identical to sysread, except uses aligned buffer
suitable for raw I/O if setUseRaw was previously called.
genwrite FILEHANDLE, SCALAR, LENGTH
Performs write identical to syswrite, except uses aligned buffer
suitable for raw I/O if setUseRaw was previously called.

EXPORT

 getUseRaw, setUseRaw, genread, genwrite

LIMITATIONS

Relies on Perl Inline::C module. Code may gracefully compile to
empty stubs on non-raw (non-Linux) platforms, but this has not
 been thoroughly tested.
