App::MediaInfoUtils - Utilities related to getting (metadata) information from media files

VERSION

This document describes version 0.129 of App::MediaInfoUtils (from Perl distribution App-MediaInfoUtils), released on 2020-06-02.

FUNCTIONS

media_info

Usage:

media_info(%args) -> [status, msg, payload, meta]

Get information about media files/URLs.

This function is not exported.

Arguments ('*' denotes required arguments):

  • backend => str

    Choose a specific backend.

  • media* => array[filename]

    Media files/URLs.

Returns an enveloped result (an array).

First element (status) is an integer containing HTTP status code (200 means OK, 4xx caller error, 5xx function error). Second element (msg) is a string containing error message, or 'OK' if status is 200. Third element (payload) is optional, the actual result. Fourth element (meta) is called result metadata and is optional, a hash that contains extra information.

Return value: (any)

media_is_landscape

Usage:

media_is_landscape(%args) -> [status, msg, payload, meta]

Return exit code 0 if media is landscape.

Portrait is defined as having 'rotate' metadata of 90 or 270. Otherwise, media is assumed to be 'landscape'.

This function is not exported.

Arguments ('*' denotes required arguments):

  • backend => str

  • quiet => true

    Don't output anything on command-line, just return appropriate exit code.
