Changes for version 0.17 - 2016-01-21

crypt() now tries BCRYPT first on OpenBSD (with reasonable value of cost), or SSHA512 (with reasonable value of rounds) on other systems, then it falls back to MD5-CRYPT and CRYPT.
Switch to Bytes::Random::Secure.

Crypt password utilities

To install Crypt::Password::Util, copy and paste the appropriate command in to your terminal.

cpanm Crypt::Password::Util

perl -MCPAN -e shell
install Crypt::Password::Util
